Is colon hydrotherapy right for you?

Some health conditions mean colon hydrotherapy isn't appropriate. Please read carefully before booking.

If you've never had a colon hydrotherapy session before, you may be wondering whether to see a doctor first — especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions.

Colon hydrotherapy is safe when administered by a trained professional, but certain circumstances — called contraindications — make it inadvisable for some people. We strongly recommend consulting your doctor or a trusted medical advisor; depending on their familiarity with the practice, they may either support or discourage it.

The conditions listed below mean we cannot treat you at this time. It is your responsibility to disclose any past diagnosis. The only exception is a written prescription from your physician or state licensed medical practitioner authorizing treatment and providing supervision.

Contraindications include (but aren't limited to):

  • Diverticulitis
  • Severe hemorrhoids
  • Crohn's disease
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Rectal or intestinal tumors
  • Abdominal hernia
  • Recent colon, rectal, or abdominal surgery
  • Colon or rectal cancer
  • GI tract cancer
  • Recent history of GI or rectal bleeding
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Recent heart attack
  • Vascular aneurysm
  • Uncontrolled hypertension
  • History of seizures
  • Intestinal perforation
  • Epilepsy or psychosis
  • Cirrhosis or liver disease
  • Fissures or fistula
  • Pregnancy

If any of these apply to you, please consult your physician. If you have a condition that's well in the past and you're unsure whether you're eligible for treatment, give us a call at (801) 479-5616 and we'll talk it through with you.
